I was watching an early episode (1st Japanese series I'm guessing) last night and an alternative version of Dragon Lake came on.
It was all white and instead of mud there was feathers at the bottom. The platform at the other side had a slide leading off of it that contestants who landed, but not well, fell down it into another bath of feathers. The contestants who landed well just walked down some steps.
In this version alot of contestants landed but only some walked down the steps (the rest slid down). So I was wondering if you had to actually land and walk down to get through and if you slid down then you were out aswell as if you fell in because it would be a very easy game otherwise.
Does anyone know if this is true?

You're referring to the pilot episode, Bet1. As for winning, I think the contestant only had to avoid landing in the white stuff, just like the other two Dragon Lakes. As that particular version was only used once we don't have a comparrison for confirmation. Hope that satisfies your curiosity.

Alot of people have wondered about this and it seems obvious to me you have to avoid sliding down when making it to the platform

I reckon that was the cheapest game they made in the history of Takeshi's Castle games

Surely there are cheaper ones?
What about....errm...Bite the Bun? That's just sacks and bread. Or Catch It?
Was still a cheap game though.

Well, many Takeshi games are quite cheap (Boulder Dash, In the Sack, ...) - but very funny (and that's important)
