Everyone here remember series 2 episode 5. the episode where the contestant pulled off a miraculas win in the final show down? Well if you watch the video closely you can see that his gun peirced the paper ring on the main cart instead of shooting through it with the water. You know what this means? THE WIN DIDN'T COUNT Which is to bad. It probably should have counted anyway.

After going back down to memory lane,I can remember this happening...even though the "winners" music played(the same music that's played at the end of the credits in the original version)and the contestant was jumping for joy.
Is there any video footage of what happened after that?

Plus,a video has been uploaded of his "win": uk.youtube.com/watch?v=n4UKlN_f3L8 But if you look at the contestant's paper ring,it had a small hole in it before he tore Takeshi's ring,so perhaps it shouldn't of counted

I guess you are out when Tani points at you and whistles. This contestant isn't the only one who tries to win although his paper ring is destroyed.
I think Tani talked to the contestant (and Takeshi) and they decided that he had to shoot through.
Btw. what kind of paper is used for that paper rings?

Just found the info for this on wikipedia:
Takeshi's Troops were supposedly defeated on the ninth Episode by Shiba, one of the contestants. Along with his four teammates, he drove toward Takeshi's Cart and stabbed Takeshi's Paper Ring. Knowing that Shiba shocked the audience, General Tani examined how Shiba and his friends could have defeated Takeshi's Troop. Shiba answered by saying that he actually stabbed out the Paper Ring rather than shooting it. General Tani was very disappointed and said that Shiba was not supposed to do that. As a result, all of the remaining contestants were immediately disqualified and the victory went to Takeshi's side.

Cheaters deserve to lose. You would think the water pistol would be clue enough as to its intended use. Not to mention, Tani/TBS would have explained the rules before the game or in a contract. Besides, how did he expect to get away with such devious tactics with a dozen TV cameras and hundreds of spectators watching him?! BTW, thanks for the birthday message Jonnie. 30 already! Time flies by.

The ironey of that is that he won the $800 prize of bravery in that episode .

haven't seen that episode for a while, but I think the cars crashed and he peirced the ring by mistake.
