Just thought it might be interesting to see if anyone had seen things that resembled characters/games/e.t.c. in real life. For instance, in the final level of Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, you have to fight off people storming you from the castle-like bunker. I saw it I immediately thought of Takeshi's Castle.

I saw something years ago.
In the 1930's there was a silent movie star named Buster Keyton. In one of his films he is trying to climb a hill which has boulders rolling down like avalanche/boulder dash. I think they were fake boulders because back then there were no stuntmen. He had to hide in a cave while the boulders went on to destroy a building/town at the hill's bottom.
(Good luck finding a clip of this!)

I suppose the obvious example is Sumo Wrestling. It used to be on Eurosport a few years back. On it I saw the real Konishiki. He's massive! Larger in girth than Spud and as heavy as 3 porkers. You have to see it to believe it!

well, in a brazilian show they have made a game that reminded me as a mix of TC and Pac-Man, named Ooga Booga Maze: the contestants enters in a maze using velcro outfits, and in the maze has many velcro cubes in it. He needs to look for these cubes and stick them in the outfit. But are five 'ghosts' in the maze, hunting the contestant! When a monster catches him, he earns money for each cube they have collected... EDIT: luckily I've found a video of it in YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P8Lv5vCd88(portuguese audio)

Pretty good clip. Decent concept for a game, though anyone who went right from the starting mat was completely doomed as it was a dead end. Not fair, me thinks!

I saw a clip of this japanese mud competition and one of the games was a ball was launched into the air and you were on a platform in the middle of a muddy river and you had to jump out and catch it like in ball cupping and one of the games you had to ride a bike on a bunch of wooden planks like ride the wave.

Square maze on the crystal maze, eh Jonnie. Is that where a contestant has to run through a door maze to find the crystal in Industrial Zone?
Judging by Notundercovercop32's clips mentioned above it seems that the best place to look for Keshi-like games is on other gameshows.

I've remembered of a Monica's Gang comic featuring Smudge that makes fun with Bridge Ball:
Smudge talks with a narrator about he's over a bridge. He starts to walk through it, making fun as 'I can to cross it blindfolded!'. But then a cannon-shooter begins to shot black balls against him to knock down the bridge, but he kicks back all the balls to the shooter, hitting him. Just after this he realizes the bridge is over a pool (like in the brazilian Bridge Ball) and lays and hangs at the bridge, frightened with the water. XDDD
